Many of our patients love their ReSound hearing aids but often need support when it comes to installing and updating the software.

Read on to learn exactly how to install new software updates step by step using the ReSound app.

You Will Receive a Notification When a Software Update Is Ready

Sometimes it’s beneficial to update your ReSound devices to ensure you reap the most benefits from your hearing aids. You can now do this directly in the ReSound Smart 3D app.

When a software update is available, you will receive a notification within the app. Tap “Install” to do the installation now or tap “Later” to do it when it’s more convenient for you. If you choose “Later,” a notification badge on “MyResound” in the menu will remind you to do it. Navigate to that menu when you’re ready to install the update.

You will see which new software version is available for your hearing aids. A message will also explain what is included in the update.

How to Install New ReSound Hearing Aid Software

Before you install new updates, be sure to insert fresh batteries in your hearing aids or make sure they are fully charged. Remove your hearing aids and keep them next to your smartphone. Your hearing aids will turn off sound during the installation.

Note that the update will take about five minutes per hearing aid, and it’s recommended to complete the installation once you begin it.

In the following steps, the app guides you through the flow. You can follow the progress throughout the installation. When the installation is complete, a green check mark will appear. Just tap “Close” and you’re all set!
