Meet Vanessa Swindlehurst

Vanessa was born & raised in La Grande and is our ultra-friendly Front Office Concierge

A favorite part of her role is “knowing that I am part of a team who is actively improving the quality of life for so many of my community members.”

Vanessa loves hearing patient testimonials about how audible joys have returned to their lives, such as being able to hear their grandchildren laughing in the next room and now being able to hear the birds singing again.

As a Front Office Concierge, Vanessa manages all the pieces necessary to ensure each patient has a smooth appointment with the audiologist. She schedules appointments, greets the patients, and everything in between.

Her stand-out moment from her time at Audiology & Hearing Aid Associates was helping a patient who was having a very hard time with his hearing loss. He was feeling isolated and misunderstood in his life. We got him into the clinic and I had a handful of opportunities to connect with him and validate his frustrations and struggles. Over the course of a few visits he began to warm up and we began to see his hard demeanour soften. It was impactful to see how I could play a role in his journey just by being a listening ear for him.

Outside of the office, Vanessa can be found adventuring with her 3-year-old son, including hiking and exploring the mountains. She also enjoys cooking, crafting, decorating and writing. Fun fact: She is also a portrait and wedding photographer.
