The team at Audiology and Hearing Aid Associates has been caring for the La Grande community since 1982. As a leading Audiology expert, we’ve always responded to challenges with innovative solutions. One such innovation is our new Access Audiology program which provides patients with consultations via video calls when they can’t come to the office.

Hearing is an essential ability that can’t wait for things like COVID-19 to pass. So, in order to serve our patients comprehensively, we’re offering Access Audiology permanently. Another way we meet your needs is through the ReSound Smart and Smart 3D Apps with Assist technology. This allows us to adjust your hearing device from the comfort of your home.

Take a look at how ReSound provides our help wherever you are, and learn how to troubleshoot issues.

The ReSound Assist Feature Works Simply When Installed Correctly

  • With ReSound Assist, you simply send a description of your hearing issue directly to us.
  • We receive the request, which also sends us a report of your hearing aid’s current settings.
  • We then precisely tweak your settings and send the information right to your ReSound App.
  • All you have to do is place your phone near your hearing aid and press “Install.”
  • You let us know what you think of the adjustments through the “Rate My Sound” function.

Here’s How to Troubleshoot ReSound Assist

ReSound is simple to use once installed correctly, but it’s a new concept for some patients, so here are some tips if it’s not working. Often, the problem stems from the connection to a device, not the App itself. So start by connecting correctly, or reconnecting, if needed. Here’s how it works.

1. Get Your Phone Ready to Connect
  • From the “Settings” menu on your phone, choose “Bluetooth” and turn it on.
  • Under “Accessibility,” select “Hearing Devices.”
  • If you’ve connected before, click on your hearing aids under “Hearing Devices,” then scroll down and select “Forget this Device.”
2. Pair Your Phone with Your Hearing Aids
  • Turn your hearing aids off and remove the batteries, or place rechargeable aids on the charging base.
  • Then replace the batteries, or remove aids from the charger and turn them back on.
  • On your phone, look for your hearing aids to appear under “Hearing Devices.”
  • Choose the prompt to “Triple-click the Home button at any time to show hearing device options.”
  • Your phone will then send you a “Bluetooth Pairing Request.” You’ll “pair” once for one aid, or twice for two.
3. If ReSound App Connectivity Fails, Try These Simple Tips
  • Turn your phone off and on.
  • Turn “Demo Mode” on and off on the ReSound App under the “More” tab. Restart each device.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and on through your phone and check that the ReSound App is set to allow Bluetooth.
  • Close all other Apps that are running and try ReSound again.
  • Close and reopen the ReSound App.
  • Update any software your phone recommends.
  • Delete the ReSound App and download it again.

We offer the most innovative hearing technology to provide optimal sound. But adjusting to a new hearing tool can be a bit confusing, and that’s why we’re always here to help. These simple tips should resolve any ReSound App issues. But if you require further assistance, please call us at (541) 612-7555 or click here to schedule an Access Audiology consultation.
