Siemens Hearing Aids
Starting as a manufacturer of telegraphic instruments in 1847, Werner von Siemens changed his focus to inventing an instrument to address hearing challenges in 1877, which led to the production of an amplified telephone receiver.
The Siemens company’s first BTE (behind-the-ear) instrument was released in 1959 and their first (ITE) in-the-ear hearing aid in 1966, which made them pioneers in wearable hearing aid technology.
After becoming a part of Sivantos in 2015, Signia hearing aids were first produced using Siemens’ technology while the company continued to release their own Siemens brand hearing aids. When the Sivantos Group merged with Widex to create WS Audiology in 2019, Siemens became a part of the world’s largest hearing aid manufacturing group.

Siemens Advanced Technology Solutions
Among the most advanced innovations available in Siemens devices is the Binax platform, which is able to simulate binaural hearing with an eight-microphone network (four per hearing aid) that connect wirelessly in order to share and balance audio data using e2e (ear to ear) technology.
Subjected to testing by the University of Northern Colorado and the Hearing Center of the University of Oldenburg, Binax demonstrated the capacity to produce sound that allows Siemens hearing aid wearers an advantage over those with normal hearing in a noisy environment.
Additional technologies integrated into the Binax platform are Narrow Directionality, Spatial Speech Focus, eWindScreen binaural, and High-Definition Sound Resolution, all included to help improve the quality and clarity of your hearing experience.
